A trading journal app built for traders who use their phone
Most journals are desktop tools with a phone view bolted on. Ours is the opposite. Live broker sync, screenshots, voice notes, and the full dashboard work properly on a phone.
Most retail traders journal from their phone. Setup happens at the desk, but the actual logging, the screenshots, the emotion notes, the rules check after a hard session, all that happens on mobile, often hours after the trade.
Most journals were not built for this. The mobile view is a responsive afterthought. You tap a button, half the dashboard does not fit, and you give up after a week.
We treat mobile as the primary journaling surface. The PWA runs from your home screen. Trade entry takes under 30 seconds. The dashboard renders the same widgets that show up on desktop, sized for the screen.
What the mobile app does
- Quick-add trades with a single-screen form. Symbol, direction, size, entry, stop, target, emotion tags. Save.
- Attach screenshots from the camera roll. Multi-image per trade.
- Voice notes for context (30-60 second clips), stored with the trade.
- Live broker sync runs in the background. Trades from MT4, MT5, cTrader, Binance, and Bybit appear in seconds.
- Push notifications for prop firm rule warnings (80% daily DD, news lockout active).
- Full dashboard: equity curve, calendar heatmap, R-multiple distribution, sessions, all of it.
- AI Coach (Pro) readable from mobile. Pre-market plan on your commute, post-session breakdown over coffee.
Why PWA instead of a native App Store app
App Store reviews take days. Apple charges 30%. A PWA installs from Safari with one tap, gets updates instantly, and works identically to a native app for journaling purposes. We chose this because every update reaches users immediately, and the cost savings keep subscription prices honest.
What mobile cannot do (yet)
- Initial broker setup is easier on desktop. Pasting MT4 server names and investor passwords from a password manager is faster with a keyboard.
- Bulk CSV imports run better on desktop. The file picker on mobile is fine, but reviewing 1000 imported trades is easier on a big screen.
- Detailed strategy editing (multi-confluence playbooks, R-target ladders) is better on desktop.
- Once connected, everything else works on mobile.
