Most crypto journals were built for spot trading on three exchanges. Then perps blew up, leverage came in, funding rates started mattering, and the journals never caught up. People who trade BTC perps with 10x leverage end up using a Notion template or building a Google Sheet that breaks every time the funding cycle hits.

This one handles perps. Funding payments received and paid, tracked per position. Liquidation distance over the life of the trade. Cross-margin and isolated-margin accounts. Fees broken out maker vs taker. PnL net of all of it.

The 14-day Pro trial includes unlimited crypto connections. Standard ($30/mo) covers 2 live exchange connections, which is enough if you trade Binance and Bybit only.

Beyond entry/exit

What the journal tracks on crypto

  • Spot and perp trades on Binance and Bybit, live-synced.
  • Funding payments received and paid, attributed to the position they covered.
  • Leverage at entry vs leverage at peak (because most traders add to losers and forget).
  • Liquidation distance throughout the trade (closest approach to liquidation price).
  • Maker vs taker fee breakdown.
  • Cross-margin vs isolated-margin account handling.
  • Multi-asset position correlation (so you can see when your "diversified" book is actually one BTC-correlated bet).
  • Session and time-of-day analysis adjusted for crypto (which trades 24/7).
Security

Setup: read-only API keys only

When you generate an API key at Binance or Bybit, you tick read permission only and skip the trade and withdrawal permissions. Paste the public key and secret into the journal, and the sync starts within a minute. We never get a key that could place trades or move funds.

Some exchanges let you IP-whitelist API keys. Use it. Adds a layer that means even a leaked key cannot be used from a different machine.
Why this matters

The patterns crypto journals usually miss

  • Funding rate as a hidden cost. Hold a long perp through a positive funding cycle and you pay shorts every 8 hours. Over a multi-day hold, funding can exceed your entire position P&L. Most journals do not surface this.
  • The "add to losers" pattern. Crypto traders add to losing perp positions to "average down," which silently increases leverage. The journal flags positions where leverage at peak is more than 1.5x entry leverage.
  • Correlated bets disguised as diversification. Long BTC, long ETH, long SOL, long a few alts. That is one trade, not four. The journal flags the correlated exposure on the dashboard so you see real risk, not symbol count.
  • Fee impact on scalp strategies. A 0.1% taker fee on a 0.3% target is a third of your edge before slippage. The journal shows fees as a percentage of gross P&L, which usually surprises people.

The multi-asset angle matters if you trade XAUUSD or NAS100 in your morning session and BTC perps at night. Crypto-only journals make you keep a separate workflow for everything else.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Which crypto exchanges sync live?
Binance and Bybit are the primary exchanges with first-class live sync (spot and futures, including perps). Additional exchanges are supported in the codebase including BingX, Bitget, Blofin, Coinbase, Gate.io, Hyperliquid, Kraken, KuCoin, and MEXC. Coverage and live-sync support varies by exchange.
How are API keys handled?
Read-only keys only. When you set up the integration at Binance or Bybit, you generate an API key with read permission and no trade or withdrawal permission. We cannot place trades, transfer funds, or change account settings.
Which tier do I need?
Standard ($30/mo) includes 2 live crypto exchange connections. Pro ($55/mo) includes unlimited crypto connections plus the AI Coach, prop firm tracking, and live MT4/MT5 sync. The 14-day Pro trial includes all of it with no credit card.
Are perps and futures supported, not just spot?
Yes. The journal tracks leverage, funding payments received and paid, liquidation distance throughout the trade, and PnL net of fees. Same for cross-margin and isolated-margin accounts.
What about on-chain or DEX trades?
On-chain spot holdings tracking exists at the wallet level for analytics. DEX trades themselves (Uniswap, Hyperliquid native, etc.) require manual entry or the relevant exchange-specific connector. Hyperliquid has a dedicated connector.
